Think replacing Megan Fox in the new "Transformers" film is tough? Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has faced challenges before: high heels, raging bulls and pheasants.

Covering the new Complex Magazine, Huntington-Whiteley, a Victoria's Secret supermodel from rural England, chatted about how she got the role, revealing that the casting was just as big a surprise to her as it was to the general robot-loving public.

"[Director] Michael [Bay] was great. We shot a commercial in 2009 for Victoria's Secret, that's where we met. Then he sent me an email last summer. He said, 'I'd like to put you on tape for this role for Transformers,'" Huntington-Whiteley revealed. "I figured it was going to be a small role, or an extra. I didn't jump on the idea, but I believe you should always take a meeting, so I went to the casting and went on tape. A couple days later, Michael sent me a message saying, 'We want you for the female lead, is that something you'd consider?' I met Shia that evening, then a week later I was doing a screen test, and two weeks after that I was doing my first scene. So it happened really, really quick."

Perhaps the 24-year old impressed Bay with her running; while she makes a living slowly strutting down the catwalk, Whiteley is no stranger to having to turn on the jets to save her life. Bulls, she says, are very sensitive when you step on their land while they're with the lady cows.

That being said, she doesn't always give deference to her farm animals. She was pretty frank when discussing her shooting of livestock on her parents' farm.

"I know where my food comes from. I don't get sad 'cause you don't build relationships with those animals," Huntington-Whiteley said. "I'm a farm girl; there's the pigs, that's the dog that I play with and love, but it's the pig that's gonna be in the freezer next month."

If she is tough with the robots in "Transformers" as she is on the farm, well, she may help make the third chapter in the epic series the most successful yet.

What a tasteless headline, HuffPost.

The movie would be great anyhow, but they really should have stuck with Megan Fox, she was a great fit, and looked like the type that could be fix a car in the morning and be ready for a ball in the evening... This one doesn't look like that type no matter how many farm animals shes killed.

So it's okay to kill a living thing you haven't built a relationship with. Gross. Now I'll know never to watch anything she's in, because as a person she makes me sick.

i agree...I felt bad about judging, but I don't eat meat anyway, so whatever. I really hate when people have that kind of attitude toward living beings, it's disgusting

My grandparents have a farm in NC.

I made the mistake of bonding with a pig one summer before they killed it. I would have shot that dog in the face before I killed my pig.

I've only watched one Transformer movie. The experience was like paying for a drink that you know someone dipped their balls in.

most people here talk about the negative with bay, and his choices... but nothing will change. you will see his new movie and you will hate on it and you will be an idiot....

So, another 2 hour action sequence with virtually no character development, sense of scale or anything else.  Just lots of explosions.

More wisdom from a vapid model. YAWN

Pretty pathetic, but sadly common. Those pigs actually rate more intelligent than dogs in every study there is; I have cared for rescued pigs and other farm animals and they are exactly the same as the animals people call "pets" - when cared about, they know who they can trust and respond to their names, are affectionate, forgiving, and just want a cozy bed at night and to be in a peaceful, safe place. The only difference from that dog (that this vapid model wouldn't eat, but several countries see no distinction and do eat dogs and cats) is that cats and dogs are smaller and people know them better, simply because they can keep them in human homes. She acts as if there is a reason one would treat each animal differently - but all it is, is the CHOICE by people to be disconnected. She has been conditioned to view the animals differently, as most people have - - but that is all it is. I am vegan, as I choose to reduce harm and learn about these beings, and have compassion. Doesn't make me a saint, but am glad I am not hawking crappy V. Secret Lingerie.

What a hypocrite. Next week's dinner? Sure she did. You don't get that skinny and looking underfed by eating the pigs you shoot. Besides we have systems set up for that sort of thing as distasteful as it may seem to the majority of us so having some so called "super" model (uh yeah sure) brag about enjoying shooting defenseless animals makes her kind of a creep to me. She comes across as someone who probably enjoyed killing small animals for fun. Has anyone checked to see about serial killings where she lives? And elevating this airhead to co-star status of a huge movie seems like a complete waste considering how many more talented actress' there are out there. Have no plans to see the 3rd one anyway, The second one cured me of any desire. I'll wait for it to hit HBO.

It didn't sound like she enjoys killing animals. She was just matter of fact about it. To most of the world, there's a huge difference. But, obviously huffpo's headline got you to click...
