AT&T Announces 4G LTE Locations

AT&T announced that it will roll out the high-speed 4G LTE mobile networks to Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta and San Antonio this summer.

According to the press release, AT&T will also add another 10 or more markets in the second half of the year, as well as adding 20 4G devices, some of which will be LTE capable. AT&T stated that it plans to offer 70 million Americans access to LTE this year.

"We plan to invest $19 billion in our wireless and wireline networks and other capital projects this year," the release said.

Competitor Verizon has already launched its own LTE network in 38 markets, with plans to cover 76 by June 16. Verizon's LTE network suffered a major outage last month, however.
