'Green Lantern' 3D Trailer: Ryan Reynolds Comic Film Video (WATCH)

Ryan Reynolds Gets In Your Face

When the team behind the film adaptation of the classic DC Comic first debuted some rough footage of the flick last fall, fanboys were less than impressed with "Green Lantern." With its release date less than a month away, a new 3D trailer should quell any doubts about the Ryan Reynolds space hero epic.

Having recently added $9 million to the film's special effects budget, it seems that Warner Brothers' investment is paying off. Reynolds, playing Hal Jordan, the reluctant human chosen by the green power ring to join the Green Lantern Corps and face down the evil Parallax, comes at viewers in intense action scenes, and the CGI renders space and its unique inhabitants seemingly real.

The trailer is the latest in a long string of promotions, including posters, theatrical trailers and a long string of very advanced Reynolds press hits.

Oh, it's huge," Reynolds said of an earlier clip going over well with the audience at WonderCon. "I mean, I'm also a fan. I want it to be good just primarily from that level. It's a huge weight. It buoys you in a really big way. It's a totally different experience, seeing it with an audience that it's designed for. Seeing it with that group of people out there was just electrifying. If it had gone the other way, it would have been a huge disaster. So it's really great to see that they're getting it right."

The man knows how to promote, equating his hero to two of the most famous in action movie history.

"He's a classic male. Han Solo, who was witty but not really funny, was one of the touchstones," he told the Los Angeles Times. "It's about courage versus fearlessness and the power of willpower and the need for sacrifice and service. This is not a comedy film but like Han Solo or an Indiana Jones, there are moments where you smile and the hero can trades lines with anybody."

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds). Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax ... he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.
