That'll be a tough sell for the GO(t)P'ers in trying to get more minorities on board with them.

Let's just say SOME of the Tea-partiers are concerned about a "lack of diversity".

As long as they keep looking backwards and trying to stop progress, the tea party will only get smaller and smaller. They must be pretty desperate to even use the terms "community organizing" and "Acorn" in Texas.

Sure, putting the sheets back on the bed for a little while will do the trick. And then everybody will forget that they ever had them on.

Uh, huh.

Good luck with that.

Using faithful "negro" retainers to try to lure "blacks" onto the republican tea party plantation is a doomed strategy. Only the congenitally stupid will fall for the neo-confederates and their efforts to "take American back" to the nineteenth century.

There's no way they're going to win because they are still hopelessly stewpid. Anybody who thinks minorities are naive enough to fall for this hail Mary move has another think coming. They spent the last two and a half years slapping minorities down, and insulting the president with their nonsense, and now they think all they have to do is hide their sheets again and people will get amnesia?

Shrub has a better chance at getting reelected.

Have you ever noticed when something like this comes along the repcons trot out someone black to support their point of view but these same people are never seen any other time to comment on any other news,i.e. Israel, bin laden, wonder where they keep them?

The tea party will disappear into thin air once a white guy is elected president!!! Before they renamed their organization, they were know as the KKK. Now they want to court blacks and hispanics to swell up their numbers for 2012. Afterwards the non-whites will be kicked to the curb. The GOP and the tea party are so intent on having a white prez that their selections of candidates are uneducated, immoral and ignorant fools who really do not care about our country and do not offer any solid solutions to the problems Americans are facing in the real world. All they do is criticize, complain and tear down each other. Our country has a great president who want to help EVERYONE!!!

If the members of the tea party would dye their white sheets blue, pink, yellow and other colors of the rainbow, then their monocrome composition would be instantly changed. It seems they now want blacks and hispanics to join their organization because they want to win in 2012; not because they want to live next door to them.. They have figured out that Harris County, Houston, Texas is full of minorities and they want their votes. I am sure the tea party members will begin hosting barbeques and parties in their homes and invite all these people. Maybe they will allow blacks and hispanics to join their country clubs instead of just letting them do their babysitting, yard work and housecleaning. How much are they paying black "conservatives" to recruit non-whites??? Once the election is over, Harris County voters will be discarded and forgotten like yesterday's newspaper!!!

I don't know. Those early Tea Party rallies looked angry and hateful. As a minority myself, I didn't feel invited or welcome. I would attend a moderate republican rally or even vote republican. But, one could never convince me to join the extreme Right.

Why would you vote republican if you really are a minority? What in the world have they said or done in the past two years that could convince you they are looking out for your best interest?

It's so weird when people doubt I'm a minority. I'm trying to be fair in not saddling every Republican with a Tea bagger label.

The Teapublicans should have thought about their "race problem" before they started courting Southern white bi.gots back in the 1960's and the race baiting they have engaged in ever since. Even in 2010 the Bagger darling Sharon Angle was airing blatant racial fear mongering ads and saying that Hispanic kids looked "Asian" to her??? Yea I guess to Sharon they all looked alike. As for their "message" of small government...that is another lie since they are more than willing to inject government into people's private lives (think anti-choice, anti gay marriage) . The only thing "small government" about the TeaParty is they want to give corporations the ability to rip off, pollute, and even kill others without regulation or recourse by citizens in the courts. Is it any wonder that Massey Energy, The US Chamber and Koch Industries are funding the astroturf Tea Party groups?

I'm sorry, but if you are a person of color and you really believe that this faux party wants you in their ranks for anything other than your vote, you are sadly mistaken.

When they scream they want their country back, what they are really saying is "we don't want no black president!"

When you constantly and SHAMELESSLY hound the POTUS over a birth certificate when no other POTUS in American history has EVER been asked for one, your total disrespect for the office makes you seem racist. Why else would you ask him to show it?

When you are overheard using the N word when referring to the POTUS while having a beer at the bar, but not when speaking in public...you ARE a racist.

You would all love to make us believe that race has nothing to do with your hatred of Obama, however, your actions deafen your voice to the point that it is embarrassing to the rest of this country.

And finally, when you attempt to rewrite history and insert your own twisted facts, or misinterpreted meanings, you sure look "white and right" to me.

With the lack of government officials being able to see the value of education lately, it doesn't seem the USA has much of a chance to improve in this area. The GOPeeBagger education plan for America will only make poor people poorer...and increasingly angry at Washington's inability to grasp these 3 words...

WE THE PEOPLE!

the GOP have a golden opportunity to swell its membership by appealing to the social conservative values that underpin much of black (and i would venture to say, latino) America. unfortunately, they cannot move away from even the appearance of racism as a major driving force at the grassroots level of the party. between the illogical refusal to accept the President's "natural born" American status, and the obsession with imagery from an era where black folks were considered 'farm equipment', they are fighting a losing battle. i was surprised one day to wake up and find myself firmly in the "liberal" camp - especially, as i was always one of those Democrats with conservative leanings on fiscal matters. didn't take very long to realize that i had not changed, but that the GOP had been pulled so far right by its most extreme elements, even the people in the middle look and sound like liberals by comparison. good luck with that campaign to win over black folks. if only you'd realized the government was too big, or spending was out of control before the funny looking guy moved into the Oval Office, you might have found far fewer doors slammed in your faces.
