I absolutely despise Scott Walker and religious nuts like him, with that said as much as I would love to see it happen just to watch the gop fail again (which they are so good at lately) I cannot support a recall effort against him or these republican state senators. The dems should have thought about the consequences of their actions when they decided to stay home last november instead of getting off their dime and voting. What's the point of having representative government if you can say "Oops! We don't like you anymore due to your policies (regardless of how misguided they may be)? "

Recalls take a massive amount of time, money, and effort to pull off. It isn't something that can be done just because you don't like a guy. It takes something massive, such as thinking you have the right to destroy 60 years of workers rights because you one a midterm election.. An election where the motives of Walker and the Republicans were never stated ahead of time.

Also, anyone who thinks this recall ISN'T going to happen is delusional. Walker will be recalled if I have to knock on every door in this state myself. Now, I can't guarantee he will lose the election as there is still plenty of time for something to change but I can guarantee that he will be on the ballot at some point in 2012.

Fair enough Kevin, but he didn't do anything criminal. Again, I despise him and think he's nuts, in addition to making terrible policy decisions, but as I stated previously the dems who stayed home last november have nobody other than themselves to blame for this.

In Wisconsin in the next year and a half, we have:

9 State Senate Recalls
An Open Senate Seat
A Presidential Election
A Possible Gov Recall.

Unless somebody found a money tree somewhere, I have a hard time seeing Walker being recalled. That's a lot of time and effort that could be spent elsewhere.

Oh, but it will be so very, very worth it.

Heh. I'm not talking about the cost of staging the elections. I'm talking about raising money for 9 State Senate candidates. Then for a US Senate candidate. Then for Obama's reelection. And then Walker on top of that? Seems unlikely.

Recalls should be used as intended, for criminal behavior. Why would any state want to spend the millions it costs for an election when the regular election cycle will suffice? That 50% number is suspect. Perhaps it is 50% of the 12% of disgruntled union mobsters.

Recalls are a call of no confidence. They are a check on any democracy.

Wisconsin was one of the first places to initiate recall elections. How appropriate.

There is something funny going on with Obama's approval numbers on Gallup and Ras. They are increasing but I can't figure out why. Bin Laden has been out of the news for a while now and the Repubs have been attacking him on the Common poetry reading, Israel and the deficit. Its strange.

I actually think it is because Obama has stayed cool, level-headed, and hasn't let his opposition get under his skin. I honestly don't think that Kerry or Hillary Clinton would be able to have taken the punches and would have probably shown their anger more. Obama is so good at brushing it off. Obama had a lot to prove when he first got in the White House, and so much of the time politicians talk about change, but rarely act on it.

Obama had a setback by losing 63 house seats due to low turnout and smears, but he got to repeal don't ask don't tell and lets face it, catching Osama Bin Laden was a huge milestone. I think people see it as a milestone because Obama was realistic and never promised he was going to catch him and he did.

Its because people realize there is nothing in the GOP, they had their brief fling with the baggers, and woke up to find out they made a mistake

You guys may be on to something here.

If he chooses to run, Ross Feingold would easily win the WI senate seat.

I'd rather see him replace Scott Walker in the Governor's Mansion. There are plenty of fresh faces Wisconsin could send to the Senate (for example, Tammy Baldwin).

What do the republicans in Wisconsin have to worry about. Thy have made sure to keep their seats by changing the voter laws to make harder for people they know won't vote for them to vote in the recall elections. Yeah and the dems are the one who disenfranchise voter. riiiiight

They have to do Florida recall polls next and put Charlie Crist VS Rick Scott. This is pretty high for a recall. I don't live in Wisconsin, and I admit that a recall, could set a bad precedent, and the GOP might just have their revenge by trying to recall 10 Democratic governors int he next few years. If this were CA. and the Meg Whitman were the governor, than it might be fair, but recalling Walker on second though would simply be resorting to the same tyranny, he has resorted to.

It's an eye for an eye with them, so perhaps, it is better to recall a few state represenatives in WI and focus on the 2012 elections. Feingold won't want to be governor. I think his best move would be to run for Kohl's seat in 2012, and I think it would pretty much be his.

I don't think Walker will be recalled, unless another shoe drops. I think he'd have to be in Kasich (high 30s) or Scott (high 20s) to be in serious threat of a recall.

But I think he'll be a one-and-done WI governor.

Sure, just like Bush and Clinton were one-and-done prez's cuz their approval slipped to low 40's and below in their first years on the job.
