LeBron James Flops, Shows Off Acting Skills In Game 5 Against Bulls (VIDEO)

First Posted: 05/27/11 09:07 AM ET Updated: 07/27/11 06:12 AM ET

LeBron James did just about everything to lead the Heat to the NBA Finals, including putting on an impressive acting performance.

Late in the third quarter of Thursday's Game 5 win over the Bulls, James grabbed a defensive rebound and Chicago's Derrick Rose ran over to steal the ball. It appeared as if Rose nailed James in the face as the two-time MVP jerked back and fell to his knees.

The referee called a foul on Rose, but the replay showed that the Bulls star didn't even touch James' face. As LeBron got back to his feet, he winked at head coach Erik Spoelstra.

"We have seen, throughout these playoffs, some outstanding acting," TNT announcer Reggie Miller said.

The real elephant in the room: Was the 2006 Miami-Dallas series fixed? Seems strange the feds asked Tim Donaghy about it. Even Phil Jackson has wondered out loud. Randy Galloway, one of the most plain-spoken deans of Texas sports writers, seems to sort of doubt it, in a way.......

You can measure the suspicion in Miami based on the shrillness of their replies.

referees get about 50 percent of the calls wrong and we having a problem with a player doing whatever he can legally to help his team win.

NBA needs to hand out fines or some other punishment for obvious flops, even if they cannot be recognized in game. It's a joke that games can turn on acting. This isn't the WWE.

Exactly why Pro basketball is a turnoff. That, plus the referees have far too much control over who wins the games.

This is what I don't like about basketball. Used to love it as a kid, but that was when Magic, Jordan, and Bird were playing. I like physical contact sports. I see basketball as being a pseudo-contact sport that just seems to foster whining and crying. But I concede it is a beautiful game, and I know it could not work with those rules being any different. Vlade Divac was the best flopper of all time though, playing for the Kings in West Conf Finals vs. the Lakers when they still had Shaq -with a younger Kobe.

It's called playing the game! Just like when an under aged girl is totally down with messing around with a cute older boy until she gets caught then she pretends shes a victim for mommy and daddy. It's all part of the game. LOL!

If the was a flop Lebron must be an incredibly fast thinker. How much time did he have to plot the flop. Maybe 0.1 of second
Rose approaches from the blindside and knocks the ball into his face just as he coming
down with the ball from a rebound. So he must have thought o.k. I am going throw my head
like I was punched in the face. Then I am going to down on to the knee. Oh I better hang
on to the ball just in case I don't get the call.
Look at the video at full speed. How much do you think James had to plot the flop?

Agreed there was no foul.
But the ref with the worse angle made the call.

Universal truth is not measured in mass appeal.

I think just about every superstar has flopped at some point (if not continuously). I'm not justifying it, but singling out LeBron as a flopper is just plain wrong.

I don't think anything was said about LeBron inventing it. But this isn't just getting bumped and acting like you've been shot in the legs. This is an absurd, humiliating reaction to ZERO contact.

Can't we just leave the acting to the WWF or whatever they call it these days? If James is going to try and gain an advantage by feigning injury shouldn't he at least be wearing a skirt?
