Puppy Swims In Air Conditioning: Cute/Ridiculous Animal Thing Of The Day (VIDEO)

Welcome to the dog days of Summer, people. Temperatures are already hitting 90 degrees in the Northeast and summer hasn't even officially begun. As it gets hotter, it's important to remember to keep yourself (and your pets) from overheating. At least one person on Youtube has the right idea about how to do both simultaneously: introduce your dog to air-conditioned swimming. Youtuber Season1255

We held our puppy in front of our air conditioner and he started trying to swim. It was 96 degrees out, we don't abuse our dog, just trying to keep him cool.

How could this be perceived as abuse? We're about to try the A.C. dog paddle out for ourselves (as soon as we rig up some kind of pulley system.)

He looked to me like he wanted to jump in the pool and swim around and cool off. He must have been really hot. Cute video and a nice way to cool off something that has no sweat glands.

this is a common action from an animal when he is forced to do something he doesn't want
like go into his kennel, or a bath.

yes I am also my father is a vet and I have worked many years in his clinic- so I do know what I am talking about
I have seen *diots who have sprayed their dogs with cold water and the dogs get seizures and have to be brought in - so bozo- don't try to alter your pets body temperature.
It isn't funny.

He was not swimming- he was trying to get away from the cold
dogs are smart enough to understand the difference between air and water
if not they would swim when walking in the wind.

Not cute. He was cold and uncomfortable. A chihuahua's body temp can drop like a rock in no time. What is wrong with you people that think this is cute? I'd like to see each of you held, against your will, up to freezing cold draft blowing right in your face out of a machine 4 times your size. I would happily stand around while your flailing away and say "awww, how cute!". Dip$hits.
