'The Voice' Getting Post-Super Bowl Slot On NBC

NBC announced Tuesday that it is giving its newest hit, "The Voice," one of the most coveted rewards in television: the slot just after the 2012 Super Bowl.

"The Voice" has been the first bona fide hit for NBC in a long time.

"There is no better showcase on television than to follow the Super Bowl, and we believe 'The Voice' is deserving of such high-profile exposure," NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt said in a statement.

As the Super Bowl is far and away the most watched program on television, the show that follows it usually gets very high ratings. For instance, the episode of "Glee" which followed the 2011 Super Bowl drew the biggest audience for a scripted show in three years.
