Sandra Uher Shows Up Drunk For DUI Hearing, Her Sixth Drunk Driving Arrest

Woman Shows Up Drunk For Her DUI Hearing

If Sandra Uher was hoping for leniency from the judge at her DUI hearing last week, she didn't do herself any favors by showing up to the courtroom drunk.

Uher's bail was revoked, and she was remanded to the Cermak Hospital at Cook County Jail in Chicago following the intoxicated appearance, according to an Associated Press report.

The DUI arrest for which she was appearing in court was Uher's sixth since 1997. In March of this year, she was stopped by police after running a stop sign in suburban Elgin, Illinois. Police said that her blood-alcohol content at the time of the arrest was an astonishing 0.30, nearly four times the legal limit of 0.08, NBC Chicago reports.

Two of her previous DUI arrests had come from "separate offenses that occurred on the same day" in 1999, according to a story in the suburban Daily Herald newspaper. Her most recent conviction in 2005 came with an 18-month prison sentence.

Before last Thursday's hearing, she had been released on bail after posting $10,000 for the March 2011 offense. But that option has now been stripped from her.

For the current charge, which includes driving on a revoked license, Uher faces six to 30 years in prison.
