Nancy Pelosi Wears Vintage Thierry Mugler To State Dinner With Germany (PHOTOS, POLL)

First Lady Michelle Obama wasn't the only fashion-forward politico in white at Tuesday night's State Dinner for German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi stepped out in a two-piece Thierry Mugler ensemble, pulled from her closet. She told reporters that the sort-of-ribbed jacket and floor-length skirt were "very old" (and anything from more than two seasons ago counts as vintage, in style terms) and paired the ensemble with a pearl choker and embellished clutch.

Fabulous Nancy, wearing a fabulous vintage dress, everything is right with the world. I appreciate women who choose their own style and don't follow the expected or fad. You already have. Right now the hot look is vintage sportswear - remember the tights and organic sweatshirts that you could never tell if it was on front or back, or if it was a neck hole or arm hole? Well it is all the rage again.

Nancy looks beautiful and happy, and I didn't know she has such a handsome husband. I am at least 20 years younger than she is and can verify that looking that good at her age is something to be proud of and thankful for!

I find it so interesting that all these Pelosi-haters (and Michelle-haters) would go to the trouble to dig into an article about Nancy Pelosi in the Style section of HufPo just so they could spread their negativity about her looks. Guess there are just some truly unhappy people out there. Why wouldn't they be checking out their Republican fashionistas, who must all be young and gorgeous, and leave Nancy and Michelle alone, I wonder? I do appreciate those who have said they don't like Nancy's politics but do think she looks great -- that is a very gracious attitude.
