Planking On Los Angeles Landmarks

VIDEO: Planking Around Los Angeles

Planking -- an odd activity in which one lies flat, face-down on the ground in public places -- has enjoyed quite a bit of attention in 2011. The trend of mimicking a plank in public apparently began in England several years ago. It soon became a veritable craze in Australia, where a twenty-year-old died last month after planking on a seventh-story balcony. Planking has since spread to nearly all parts of the globe, including Los Angeles. In this video by the Walsh brothers, people plank in famous LA locales ranging from the Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood Boulevard, Rodeo Drive, and Griffith Park. After you watch them perch on top of In 'n Out signs and ledges at the Griffith Observatory, tell us, is this legitimately idiotic, hilarious, or a little bit of both?
