Ann Curry's 'Today' Host Debut (VIDEO)

Ann Curry made her debut as the co-host of the "Today" show on Thursday morning, after 14 years as the program's newsreader.

"I'm Ann Curry, in for, I guess, nobody this morning," she joked as the show opened.

Curry's ascension capped off a virtually seamless transition on the top-rated morning show. She replaced Meredith Vieira, who stepped down on Wednesday after nearly five years as co-host. (Curry was a top candidate for the position when Katie Couric left in 2006, but was passed over for Vieira.)

As Matt Lauer said, the change had the air of "a member of the family simply moving to a new seat at the table."
