Since 2010, Pepsi has been on a mission to dole out $20 million in grants through its Pepsi Refresh Project to non-profits, businesses, and individuals that promote a new idea that has a positive impact on their community -- be it at the local, state or national level.
Applicants vie for grants at the $5K, $25K, and $50K level, distributed across categories like Health, Arts & Culture, Food & Shelter, the Planet, Neighborhoods and Education. The most fun part, perhaps, is that these community-focused grantees are selected by the public who can vote by visiting refresheverything.com.
With no further ado, here are 12 past winners in the Arts & Culture category and the amazing achievements they accomplished thanks, in part, to their Pepsi Refresh Project grant money. The projects range from funding the percussion program at a public school to a beach community beautification project.
