David Ortiz To Joe Girardi: 'Take It Like A Man'

Big Papi Takes Shot At Yankees Manager

For the sake of his pitching staff, Joe Girardi may want to quit talking about David Ortiz.

Girardi said he had a problem with the Red Sox slugger when he flipped his bat after hitting a home run in Tuesday night's game at Yankee Stadium.

After Boston crushed New York 11-6 on Wednesday - in which Ortiz nailed another homer - Big Papi had some harsh words for the Yankees manager.

"I don't care what Joe Girardi says," Ortiz said. "Take it like a man. I'm done with that."

Ortiz, who gently put his bat down after his home run in the first inning, said that he didn't think his bat-flip was a big deal.

"I don't want to have you guys asking me the same questions. I got almost 370 bombs in the big leagues and everybody wants to make a big deal because I bat-flip one of them," he said. "(Expletive) that (expletive), man. If I have to make that video on my (expletive), let's see how many bat flips I got on this (expletive). Good night."

The Red Sox will go for the series sweep in New York on Thursday night.
