Help Us And Be Among The First To Read Sarah Palin's Emails

First Posted: 06/09/11 10:58 PM ET Updated: 08/09/11 06:12 AM ET

On Friday, the U.S. media will get its first glimpse of more than 24,000 emails sent and received by Sarah Palin during her tenure as governor of Alaska. These emails were originally requested by journalists, citizens and other groups in 2008, when Palin was Sen. John McCain's running mate on the Republican presidential ticket. They are being released now after years of delays.

The Huffington Post expects to start receiving some of these emails Friday afternoon. We need your help going through this mass of documents to find notable passages and references to pass on to our reporters. Friday afternoon, we'll post the documents online and provide a place for you to leave notes on the emails you see.

Have you nothing better to do than to send Joe Public scurrying to do your dirty work? Is it too much to ask that you leave me one place where I can go as an Independent and not have your left-wing loons badgering me when all I want to do is read the news? Oh, that's right, this IS the HUFFINGTON POST. Duh!

Have you, at last, no shame? At what point will liberals begin to understand that they are making complete fools of themselves by trying to crucify Sarah Palin? What harm has this woman done to ANYONE EVER?

Be careful how you play this out. Your left wing kook pals might be laughing, but middle America is starting to get sick of this and don't be surprised if there is a backlash that turns your whipping girl into a hero. This nation roots for the underdog and absolutely rejects a bully. She has become the underdog. You have become the bully.

LOL, @ the guy with an elect Batshite Crazy Bachmann as President as an avatar talking about others that "have no shame". Your candidate has no problem, or scruples when it come to mudslinging and accusations.

Why is it when people scrutinize Repugs is called crucifying, and witch hunting...yet when Repugs do it, it is for the good of the Nation?

This is a two way street my friend. My advise, get a thicker skin.

I am greatly confused by this unfounded, immense, hate. First it was Clinton and now Palin. . . both intelligent, accomplished women. I suppose Palin is hit harder because she is also beautiful and leans heavily to the right. I can only surmise that it is jealousy and anonymous vitriol is a foolish and self-indulgent solution. Can we not admire their vast accomplishments and rather debate the issues and their policies?

It has nothing to do with them being women....

Clinton's hatred came from the Repugs because of her husband, but also from Independents because they favored Obama.

As to Palin...really, you would equate her to Hillary Clinton..come on, I have a sense of humor, but it doesn't have that large of a mind stretch.

You are absolutely right. There is a huge fear in the Democratic Party that the first female president might very well be a Republican. They will do everything in their power to make sure that doesn't happen.

That's part of the reason I was so mad that Colin Powell didn't want to run for president when he had the chance. He was a lot more qualified for that office than the current occupant, and his election would have changed the political dynamic in this country forever. It would have been an earthquake. The Demagoguic Party cannot survive if it loses its stranglehold on black voters. And it deserves to lose that as soon as possible.

A huge difference between President Obama and Sarah Palin is that when Obama makes a verbal error, it's more than likely he just mispoke, he didn't do so because of ignorance. And when he gets called out on it he acknowledges the mistake. But time and time again we see Palin double down on ignorance, proclaiming that she's right and the MSM has it wrong. But facts are facts!

Really? Did Obama admit he was wrong to oppose the surge? Did he admit he was wrong to ram through a healthcare bill that the majority of America didn't want? Did he admit his stimulus was the most expensive FAIL in American history?

The real difference between Obama and Palin is that his mistakes are much bigger and much more ruinous to the country. Palin's mistakes are minor insignificant details, but she's right about the big picture. Obama's just the opposite. He makes fewer minor mistakes (because his teleprompter writers have proofreaders and editors), but his big picture view is hopelessly incorrect. It's not just wrong, it's 180 degrees wrong. His compass is bass ackwards. He has to go.

There had better be a SpellCheck and GrammarCheck to accompany this mess -- I mean, mass, of Palin emails. Otherwise, Sister Sarah may have to do a special Fox TV reality show called, "Try To Dee-Cife--Er This" And any winners get a free ride on her Hysterical -- I mean Historical bus.

They'll need SyntaxCheck, too, more than any other.

I would be interested, but don't know how much of a commitment this would be -- but it is interesting that they want us to do their work -- so they can get the story.

...they only want dirt....they are salivating for dirt.

I am an independent, and I think this is heinous to dig for dirt, and ask posters to do the digging; if Palin were a Democrat...

It is a pain that they don't specify, my guess is they'll just be available en masse and you can go through however much you want.

No wonder Huffpo wants help with this one. I can't think of anything more mind-numbing than combing through the intellectual wasteland that would be any communications from her. And by the way, Huffpo, it's pretty arrogant - not to mention journalistically questionable - to mention all the "great articles" you're going to write from material you haven't even read yet.

Just finished a second read of Game Change. It's very troubling to me that, during the 08 campaign, many of McCain's people became convinced that Palin was mentally unstable and woefully unprepared for the position she sought. This is even more shocking when viewed in the context of the cloak of pure patriotism the republicans wrap themselves in. Yet they were willing to see this woman come within a heartbeat of the presidency.

If that is the case, it's even more disturbing that recently McCain stated he thought Palin could beat Obama in an election.

Why do the republicans hate America so much that they would thrust this unstable shill on us?

I'm reading Game Change now its a good read into 2008 . Palin and her Posse are out to do a rewrite on her but I think there are too many people in Alaska who are ready to be stand up and be counted in order so a rewrite doesn't happen. The Media I'm afraid are going to give this thing a pass as I read into Chuck Todd's version this morning. The Republicans according to Mark Levin who is a hate monger want a 1976 a Regean moment again with her as its head . Reagan was a failure he raised more Taxes than any two Democrats ever ,He created the one of the worst recession ever other than what Bush created in 2003 to 2008. Palin is leaving for England where is planning on Co-opting the Reagan Unvieling with Mrs Thatcher and try to make it look like she was invited .I'm expecting her to bust her way into the front row seat. This Soap Opera needs to end without a Day Time Grammy Award.
