Prince William & Kate Step Out To ARK Gala (PHOTOS, POLL)

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 06/09/2011 3:49 pm   Updated: 08/09/2011 5:12 am

Wow! What have we as Style editors done to merit not one, but two former-Kate Middleton appearances in one week?

First, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stopped by the Epsom Derby on Saturday -- he in a top hat and she in a perfectly-British headpiece, fitted coat and swingy skirt. And on Thursday night, the couple stepped out to a gala for Absolute Return for Kids (ARK) in London.

For the occasion, Catherine picked a pearlescent rose sequin gown with Swarovski crystals by Jenny Packham. She accessorized with a matching clutch...and her bow tie-clad husband.

Take a look.

Kate looks even more radiant than she did on her wedding day. She has become a world class beauty, far more glamorous than any movie star or fashion model.

I know Imay get heckled and while the Duchess is as drool worthy as ever, that dress just seems so old fashioned and conservative. Sometimes I swear that the have forced the Duchess to get a new fashion consultant as to make the rest of the royals less self conscious.

I like her entire outfit. I think her hair needs conditioning and styling.
01:08 PM on 06/13/2011
Undoubtedly, you are a man who knows very little about what's appropriate for a woman to wear and will deem "old fashioned and conservative" any garment that does not show as much flesh as you'd like to see.

The more pictures I see of her the more I think she could wear a burlap sack and still look absolutely stunning. Yup, burlap sack.

Also, love that she wears her engagement ring with her band like many of us. I thought she'd wear it for the engagement photos then a couple more outings b/f putting in some museum after getting married.

Kate is a true beauty, she would still be beautiful in jeans and a t.shirt. But when she does dress up, she still keeps it simple, tres'chic.

I think that Diana was more unique looking and more dynamic than Kate, but Kate's okay in her own way.

I agree, Diana was just a stunning person, there was something just heart stopping about her, maybe it was her shyness.
Katherine is very much the 'girl next door' type, but she and her Prince are a lovely couple.

It amuses me to see people slobbering all over their keyboards over people who look down their long noses at the little people.
08:29 PM on 06/10/2011
why is it any different looking at the style of a particular person (the name on this section by the way) than anyone else in fancy duds.

you think you have to be "royal" to be the sort who looks down their nose at someone else...

sometimes one only has to be a name on a political message board...

She is lovely. I hope their life, together is happy. They look very much in love, and she is regal, as if she was born royal. She will make a wonderful Queen and consort.

Wish they could step over Charles and the horsey Camilla. She has no grace at all. But..".thems the breaks"

With a name like Katherine Elizabeth Middleton, how could she not come into royalty
12:58 PM on 06/10/2011
Stunning!! Absolutely stunning! I loved her dress, her hair, her shoes, her makeup and her smile!! She is the perfect princess. She has such a relaxed elegance and grace that is translated so easily in these photos. Simply Stunning!!!

Agree -- the dress is extremely elegant, yet perfectly understated.

Kate is always elegant ;)

I see an eating disorder in process of either developing or has already developed. Not the confidence needed. I see an insecurity covered by "pretty" which doesn't go all that far.

They are handsome and seem very happy. None of the tenseness displayed between Diana and Charles.

Meanwhile, Prince Phillip turned 90 years old today and is still assuming royal duties. An all-too-human royal figure, to be sure, but you have to admire his spunk and vigor.

Absolutely. Did you see his interview with Fiona Bruce yesterady? (Not sure whether you are in the UK) Yikes -- he was intimidating! No signs of senile dementia there... whether you agree with him or not

I read somewhere that he is brilliant, and is generally personable (despite some of the juicier stories about boorish behavior). According to one article, you can actually go up to him at a function, say something witty, and he gets it and laughs.

I like him and get a kick out of the Queen's hats. They are a wonder to behold. Phillip has always played his role really well.
