Sarah Palin Movie 'The Undefeated' Getting National Release In AMC Theaters

Sarah Palin Movie Undefeated Amc National Release

First Posted: 06/10/11 11:01 AM ET Updated: 08/10/11 06:12 AM ET

The Sarah Palin documentary, “The Undefeated,” is getting a national release this summer at AMC movie theaters.

"The Undefeated is the ideal candidate for digital theatrical distribution," said Jonathan Dern, president of Cinedigm Entertainment Group, which is managing the release, in the press release. "Given Palin's ardent following throughout the country, digital cinema allows us to be extremely precise and efficient in our distribution strategy, bringing this much-anticipated film directly to interested theatre-goers."

After premiering in Iowa and then other key primary states this month, the film will be released in Dallas, Denver, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Atlanta, Orange County, Phoenix, Houston, Indianapolis, and Kansas City, among other cities on July 15.

Directed by Steve Bannon, a conservative filmmaker, it follows Palin’s time as Alaska governor, the vice presidential run, and her current political life.

Initial impressions from pre-release screenings have been on the low side.

“Its tone is an excruciating combination of bombast and whining, it’s so outlandishly partisan that it makes Richard Nixon look like Abraham Lincoln and its febrile rush of images -- not excluding earthquakes, car wrecks, volcanic eruption and attacking Rottweilers -- reminded me of the brainwash movie Alex is forced to sit through in 'A Clockwork Orange.' Except no one came along to refresh my pupils with eyedrops,” wrote Kyle Smith, the New York Post's film critic.

Palin supporters are likely to have a different take, however.

“If you like Sarah Palin, the movie will make you like her even more,” CBS News noted.

“Using never-before seen video, it shows Palin taking on the machine and winning, while racking up whopping 80 percent approval ratings in the state. And you will feel fresh outrage about how savagely she has been treated and mocked by Hollywood and the liberal elite.”

National Review (likening it to a “hero’s journey” in politics) and The Daily Caller (a “game-changer”) both praised the film.

According to MSNBC, however, the most striking part of the film is its attack on the GOP establishment.

“To hell to the establishment,” says conservative activist Andrew Breitbart near the end of the movie. Then come pictures of Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, and Eric Cantor. Breitbart’s beef with the GOP establishment: It didn’t defend Palin from the attacks she received after the ’08 campaign. “I see eunuchs,” he added in the "CODA" of the nearly two-hour movie.

She was defeated twice first by Katie Couric then by Obama. I like how conservatives have amnesia about how she made a total fool of herself on national television. It's like wondering why Mel Gibson isn't doing as well as he used to, get a clue people.

A two year governor drop out and her only real skill is buying clothes she cannot afford for her soon to be pregnant children.

The only people who are likely to see this movie are Critics, Republicans(and TeaParty Republicans), Stalkers. Anyone with any sense should be able to see this is nothing more than another piece of nauseating propaganda to promote Sarah Palin

"In Indiewood, the per-screen heroes (writ small) were Undefeated, Tabloid, and Beats, Rhymes & Life, each between an estimated $6350 per sceeen and $6570. Beats was easily the most impressive of the trio, doing that per-screen across 22 screens. Tabloid, on 4 more screens than Undefeated (14), with a 27% higher gross, though Undefeated seems to have won the per-screen battle."

Make that her feet -- before going for a swim.

As far as the movie, "The Undefeated" should be called "The Incoherent."

Another good reason to avoid AMC Theaters.

This and the 22 minutes of movie trailers you have to routinely sit through at their theaters.

Of course, Sarah Supporters will see this movie in a positive light, and for the same reason those on the left are so receptive to Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow - they agree with the message.

Doesn't make either more right or more wrong; just proves both are still locked into the mindset of being " 'this' kind of American instead of 'that' kind". America shall do so much better when Americans stop trying to make each other the enemy - like a body with an autoimmune disorder, trying to attack its own tissues. Anyone with lupus will understand.

Sensational Sarah Palin is a superstar celebrity, Patriot Princess & Conservative Queen. "The Undefeated" is a wonderful documentary the entire family can enjoy together. Tickets are selling out rapidly.

Selling out rapidly? I suppose thats why it is on it's way to pay-per-view already.

Sarah really must be needing more money from her worshipers to have them come to the movies and pay a day's wages for the popcorn and soda, PLUS the price of the movie ticket. They're the ONLY ones who will happily pay to sit through this 'Screech Fest'... The rest of us know better than to throw good money away for bad garbage...
07:07 PM on 07/07/2011
Wow! Pretentious much???
"pay a day's wages for a movie, popcorn and a soda". Really???
Spoken like a true elitist. Throw yourself out while your at it.

1) I suppose you did not read "Dreams From My Father" or "The Audacity of Hope", because they would make the author more money...

2) Not having seen it yourself, how can you qualify it as a "screechfest"? Sounds unduly partisan...
06:42 PM on 07/25/2011
'how can we qualify it as a "screechfest"?' LOLOLOL Have you not heard Sarah Palin speak before? Her voice in combination with her ignorance, lack of understanding about what most government offices even do, political views, etc. If someone made you sit through nearly 2hrs of something you hate, I would think you would probably describe it a little more harshly. I would guarantee 1/2 the idiots who vote for someone like Palin haven't a clue what policies she stands for, how she votes on issues. Lemmings is a word the comes to mind.

I just figured it out. The Onion is behind this movie. By the way I just got an email from Team Sarah BEGGING me to buy tickets for opening night. They sounded desperate.

It's about time the nation gets to find out the truth about this exceptional woman.

Love the irony.

Unfortunately there are some folks who do not want to know the truth. The media went through her garbage looking for dirt on her, made up stories about her Down Syndrome child, and finally went through 24,000 emails looking for more dirt. Anyone seeing this movie will witness the foul, ugly name calling directed at this woman. It's sad really, that Americans treat each other this way.
07:01 PM on 07/25/2011
LOL....yeah, took them 2yrs to come up with those 24k pages, which had been redacted. I, personally, could care less about her personal life. Government officials should be elected based on policies they support, not family issues. The foul, ugly name calling that is displayed in the movie is accompanied by images that are made to make you feel a certain way. Don't you recognize propoganda when you see it? Use your mind!
