Radio Silence NYC Uses Rock Music To Combat Bullying

Too young to vote? This is irrelevant to a group of four young musicians who believe all you need is some rock 'n' roll in order to change the world.

Hailing from various parts of New York City, Radio Silence NYC is a four-piece rock sensation comprised of 16-year-old boys who were influenced by the likes of Green Day, Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix. And don't let their name or ages fool you -- their commentary on social change is anything but silent.

In a special CNN report, the band explains that their first single "Renegade" was written as a way to speak out against bullying in schools and let kids know it's okay to be themselves.

According to CNN, the band teamed up with Do Something, an organization that helps young people "rock causes they care about," which allowed them to tour different high schools and spread their positive vibes.

The band's guitarist and lead singer, Zach Allen, said Radio Silence NYC is the voice of a new generation:

"We are the generation, it's our time to change and it's our time to make things better."
