Anthony Weiner Leave Of Absence Granted By Congress

WASHINGTON -- The House has approved without objection a two-week leave of absence for embattled Rep. Anthony Weiner.

Weiner's request was approved by unanimous consent at the close of legislative business Monday night.

The New York Democrat is receiving treatment at an undisclosed location after becoming embroiled in a sexting scandal.

I was happy with a possible resignation of Weiner until I found out about their lavish gym that costs them 20 bucks a month I mean seriously, our tax dollars is funding that gym... I think he may as well just stay there. They're all a bunch of hypocrites I mean god only knows what goes on in that place ......determining what taxes to raise, while M.S champagne is dancing on a stripper pole

It is ridiculous the amount of cronyism that consumes our politics. The sad part, it's at our expense. They are all asking him to resign and yet they grant him a leave of absence?? How brain dead is that?? For the love of God, deny it and start kicking him out if that

Weiner gets time off for "sexting". Can you imagine a teacher or doctor taking a leave of absence for a sex issue? Time off hell, he should be fired, if only it were that easy. Some say we can fire them by not re-electing them, thats not good enough. Rules of behavior need to be set in stone just as they set laws in stone. If they break those rules, they leave office. This is our country, we need to be in charge of the leaders who work for US.

Your right, he does work for ALL of us. He creates laws ALL of us have to live with. His judgement is in the toilet but only his district can get rid of him, and THATS MY POINT. CONGRESS SHOULD PASS NEW LAWS THAT HOLD THEMSELVES ACCOUNTABLE FOR BAD BEHAVIOR AND THOSE NEW LAWS SHOULD PROVIDE CRITERIA FOR MAKING AN ELECTED OFFICAL RESIGN. Yes I'm a Democrat but I'm the first one to admit that the list of Democrats caught in Sex scandals is as long as the other side. At least Bill Clinton never pretended to be Mr "Family values"
