Whole Foods Spoofed in Rap Video

Whole Foods Parking Lot

Via Curbed.com: Many affluent Angelenos view Whole Foods as a necessity. It's the go-to store for producer-types and fake-tanned bodies to get their daily bread, and the art collective decided to have some fun with this staple of LA living. The group, a hybrid of LA and San Francisco residents, has just released a rap video that gently mocks our city's Prius-driving, kombucha-drinking Whole Foods fans and their rabid devotion to the store. It's a little funny and a little stupid, but it definitely hits home -- especially for the patrons of Venice's Whole Foods on Lincoln Boulevard, where the video was shot.

Whole Foods is run by a right-wing "libertarian" (that means he is a rich anarchist) who is a global warming denier and against the Obama administration's health care initiatives. Adding this on top of its obscene prices and the question is: why would anyone shop there?

If I stopped shopping at every store where I disagreed with the CEO, I wouldn't have many places left to shop. Sure, some items are expensive, but a lot of their stuff is priced the same as a regular grocer. And I don't have to get a mouthful of chemicals and preservatives in my meals. Believe me, I am a frugal shopper. I shop both Whole Foods and Trader Joes and, between the two, I can eat healthier and not spend too much. It's how you spend as much as where you spend. Of course, I'm only shopping for one.

Ohh, I bet you'd find plenty of places to still shop. There must be a farmers market near you? You can still spend '80 bucks on 6 things' and eat super healthy!

Whole Paycheck Foods. Even our grocery shopping is now class-segregated.

Whole Foods--the Wal-Mart of natural foods (and I'm not talking about price or convenience, either!)

The Whole Foods in Venice on Lincoln is one of my favorite Whole Foods! My husband works by there, and we go there a lot as a family. This video is hilarious! "Yoga pants", "quinoa", and " master cleanse" were all lyrics that made me laugh!!!! I could definitely relate to this rap song! So funny!
