Rare Chinese Alligator Found In Dumpster (VIDEO)

(WATCH) Rare Gator Saved From Garbage

The typical places to find reptiles outside of their natural domain are in a city sewer or crawling out from some unlucky homeowner's toilet bowl, but a rare Chinese alligator showed up in another filthy, yet unexpected location — a garbage dumpster.

A woman looking through the trash found the protected species of Yangtze gator on June 14 in Shizhu Province, according to original reports from state broadcaster CCTV and then picked up by international outlets

Police removed the alligator and were holding it in a jail cell until deciding if the reptile should be released into the wild or sent to a zoo.
