Since 1942, the non-profit Ad Council has been using the power of advertising for social good, educating Americans on important topics, and along the way, changing attitudes and behaviors around important issues.

For example, both Smokey Bear and Rosie the Riveter are the brainchildren of the Ad Council, and the organization also helped build interest in savings bonds during World War II and encouraged Americans to get vaccinated against polio in the late 1950s.
