Malibu Artist Arrested On Suspicion Of Molesting Twin Daughters

Famed Malibu Artist Paul Rusconi was arrested last Friday on suspicion of molesting his 20-month old twin daughters, reports the LA Times. He was held overnight in jail and then released on $220,000 bail.

According to a Los Angeles Sheriff's Department spokesperson, Rusconi was arrested on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old and possession of child pornography. It is unknown what led up to his arrest.

Rusconi is known for his celebrity photography, like this Beverly Hills Chanel store installation he did featuring photos of Mary-Kate Olsen. He also works with mixed media like nail polish and digital screen prints. His past subjects include Tyra Banks, Karl Lagerfeld, and President Barack Obama.

In August 2010, HuffPost Arts blogger Emily Waldorf interviewed Rusconi, who said, "Some people don't think that what I do is art - but for me art exists by definition. The beautiful and most liberating thing about being an artist is the ability to say that what I make is art. Art exists because the author says so." He also named his favorite Los Angeles hang out place as "Anywhere that my two girls are because I love them more than I knew was possible."
