Diaper-Clad Protestors March Through Valencia, Spain (PHOTOS)

Valencia Protestors

First Posted: 06/20/11 06:13 PM ET Updated: 11/15/11 05:51 AM ET

It might look like an infantile response to Spain's financial crisis, but some protestors wanted to be taken seriously as they marched through the streets of Valencia as they wore diapers on June 19 to blame bankers and politicians for the country's economic woes.

In spite of the childish outfits worn by some of the demonstrators, the atmosphere in the coastal city was charged. Police and protestors clashed, leaving eight people injured and leading to five arrests, the Associated Press reported.

Across the country, demonstrators swarmed the streets in dozens of Spanish cities, including the capital Madrid, CNN reported, to criticize austerity measures and social-spending cuts imposed by the government.

If you were to remove the clothes from r-can'ts and baggers, you'd see a similar sight except that the people would be really fat.

Good grief ~ at least if they're gonna go around in diapers couldn't they find some that actually fit them? The look like they messed in the diapers ~ it's absolutely disgusting to see grown adults behaving this way. How can they be expected to be taken seriously???

So... why diapers?
I mean, they wore diapers... and are upset with politicians and banks and the economy in general. I just don't really see the connection. Are they saying they're treated like children? The word "indignity" is on their butts, but that's not really given any solid context, either.

If the story is going to make the entire point that they wore diapers, they could spend a moment explaining the motives a bit better.
