Michele Bachmann To Launch Campaign From Iowa On Monday (EXCLUSIVE)

Michele Bachmann

First Posted: 06/21/11 07:05 PM ET Updated: 08/21/11 06:12 AM ET

WASHINGTON – Rep. Michele Bachmann will officially launch her campaign for president next Monday in Iowa, the Huffington Post has learned.

Bachmann is set to announce the details of the event on Wednesday morning, Alice Stewart, a spokeswoman for the Minnesota Republican, told HuffPost. News about the Monday event did not come from Stewart or from Bachmann headquarters, but from sources with knowledge of the event.

Coming off her strong performance in last week's Republican primary debate in New Hampshire, Bachmann and her staff have kept a low profile, allowing the candidate to ride the wave of positive buzz into this week.

Bachmann is in position to perform well in the Hawkeye State given her strong conservative credentials, her dynamism on the stump and the fact that she was born in Iowa and lived there until her family moved to Minnesota when she was 12 years old.

She was born in Waterloo, a likely spot for her announcement.

These Republicans are amazing!!!

Watching these folks attack and step all over eachother is better than Comedy Central.
George W Bush was the best comedian to date!

Got to love to the GOP. They really make me laugh. It's not everyday people can put a smile on my face.

God Bless Us All.

She's the one who calls for less government, yet she's happy to accept government handouts in the form of a farm subsidy. And then there is the fact that she's not entirely correct when giving "facts", nor is she sure of her American history. I wonder if she's ever sat down and read the Constitution. I wonder if she understands that our "founding fathers" weren't the "saints" some would have us believe they were.
08:23 AM on 06/23/2011
what she gets for her farms is legal...what she got for her foster children was legal...and your point is? Tell me any politician that gives correct facts, obama sure hasn't..any thoughts on that? Of course not..your so blinded by your liberalism you can't see straight. I don't know of any politician on either side who hasn't distorted the truth..

As you seem to have difficulty in recognizing hypocrisy let me spell it out for you: She wants to abolish government benefits but does not have the character to refuse to accept them on principle. I have a relative who acts similarly.

Well in a way its sort of comforting, mama always told me that anybody could run for POTUS and by golly mom was right. Clearly anyone CAN run for President. And who knows, we've had a B-movie actor and a rich frat boy elected in the last couple of decades so who knows. Maybe its not outside the realm of possibilities that a bats**t crazy former graduate of the now defunct Oral Roberts School of Law ....no, no, I won't even say it....

The Repugnicon primary is rapidly turning into a circus. Listening to their speeches should be priceless, and oh, what kinds of ads will they run!? My guess is about 75% attack, and 25% either incorrect information, or out right lies. All Obama is going to have to do is move around some and make some speeches himself, but otherwise just let them self-destruct without any impetus from the DNC.
08:15 PM on 06/22/2011
All obama has to do is defend his No jobs, no economy, starting a new war, yep..he will move around a bit, I hope from the white house back to Chicago...yet, obama gets a free pass from the far left media and can attack with your approval..2012 is gonna be a bad year for lib's...and fun for the republicans and independents who vote against obama..

All Obama has to do is figure out how to spread around the one billion, with a B, dollars he plans to spend for his re-election campaign. It's payback time. As in payback to all the corporations and unions he coddled and gave tax exemptions and healthcare waivers to. I just don't see how he will gain much support. The right wing doesn't like him. The independents have abandoned him, mostly, the hardcore left whines incessantly about him not doing enough (damage?) Either they will reluctantly vote or, better yet stay at home!

Yes, God will help us all if she wins. I take it you believe we should max out a few more credit cards when we lose our jobs. Ya, that's the answer.
