Michelle Obama Discusses Personal Stake In 2012 Election

Michelle Obama tells ABC News' David Muir in an interview that she sees a personal stake in the president's reelection campaign ahead of the next election cycle.

The first lady sat down for the one-on-one in Cape Town, South Africa, where she is traveling with her daughters Malia and Sasha, as well as her mother.

When asked if she personally would like to see another four more years in the White House to continue her work on issues such as health and education with women and children she responded, "I think there's so much more work to do, we've really just begun to lay the foundation."

The first lady went on to express her devotion to her work. When asked if she enjoys what she does she said, "I love the job, I do."

Earlier this year, Mrs. Obama signaled that while her main focus has predominantly been on her own initiatives, she does plan to hit the campaign trail for her husband in 2012. During an exclusive interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" she said, "Whenever it's time to campaign and they tap me on the shoulder, I'll be right there."
