A Des Plaines woman accused of stealing more than $1 million from her employer pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of theft and was sentenced to 11.5 years in prison.
Tammy Weart, 53, of the 500 block of Anita Street, was charged with 30 counts of theft in December after it was discovered that she had transferred more than $1 million from Specialty Moving Systems, Inc. in Glenview, to her personal bank account between February 2003 and December of 2009. Weart worked at the company as a controller.
