Bristol Palin On Good Morning America: Virginity Was 'Stolen' (VIDEO)

When her mother, Sarah Palin, was thrust into the spotlight as John McCain's vice presidential candidate, Bristol Palin had to come out with a secret, that she was about to be a teen mom. Now she's revealed her whole story in her book, "Not Afraid of Life," and there are plenty of surprises.

Bristol Palin doesn't accuse the father of her baby, Levi Johnston, of date rape, but does say she felt her virginity was stolen. She was drunk and to her, that's how it felt.

In the book, she refers to Levi Johnston as the "gnat" who is constantly "spreading false accusations about our family." When asked how her son might react to this description of his father when he grows up, Palin is not concerned. She says already he has less contact with Trip than he's entitled to.

Another revelation: between the time her engagement to Johnston was announced and the publication of the US Weekly interview revealing the engagement, Levi came home one day to tell her he might have gotten another girl pregnant. By agreement with the magazine, she was not allowed to say anything for two weeks.

I'm far from a fan of any of the Palin clan, but to Bristol's credit, she seems to speak better than her mother. But absitnence is not the only way to prevent pregnancy. I wonder where Bristol got her birth control... maybe at some socialist Alaskan Planned Parenthood

Folks, if Bristol's last name was Pelosi...most of you would have nothing to say. You'd be defending her to the teeth. Look, I'm no fan of her mom--wouldn't vote for her...or Bristol necessarily (although I have nothing against her).... However, I feel like we pounce on people unmercifully TOTALLY based on their politics. This is a KID! She's made a lot of mistakes and she's trying to figure things out. We all have gone through this process. Lay off her. And lay off all the Democrat's kids too. Let them grow up like we all did, without crucifying them here in HuffPost.

Whether someone wrote her book or not is no big deal; plenty other famous people do it. I am not a fan of her mom however, I do feel that this young lady (she is very young) is very poised and focused. Also she is very honest and does not seem afraid of the media. Good for her.

things are getting confusing now. There were multiple reports that she told her parents in May, and yet now she didn't tell them until August? Per McCain's vetting team, her mother was able to discuss it during the vetting process, but now she didn't know until a few days before the convention? Why do there always seem to be multiple versions of every event that the Palins participated in?
