"Survivor" host Jeff Probst is launching a daytime talk show with CBS in the fall of 2012, it was announced Monday.
Entertainment Weekly was the first to report the news. Probst had previously been mentioned as a potential replacement for Regis Philbin on his talk show.
"I'm fascinated with human nature and thrilled that this show will allow me the opportunity to connect with real people and explore their stories on a personal level," Probst said in a statement.
Notably, Probst's show will debut around the same time as his former CBS stablemate Katie Couric's. Talks between CBS and Couric broke down, and she took her show to ABC instead.
