Linda Hogan Divorce: Details 'Scary' Fights With Hulk Hogan In New Book

Linda Hogan Details 'Scary' Fights With Hulk: 'I Was Always Afraid He Would Kill Me'

Linda Hogan stopped by "The Today Show" Tuesday to dish on her tumultuous relationship with her ex-husband Hulk Hogan, chronicled in her new book, "Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes."

Her autobiography details Hulk Hogan's alleged violent behavior throughout the course of their 24-year marriage, as well as his drug use and her discovery of his affair 10 years into the marriage, which ultimately ended in July 2009.

"[Hulk] tore my shirt. He threw lamps. He held me down on the bed with his hands around my throat during arguments, slamming doors, pounding walls. I was always afraid he would kill me in one of his rages," she writes.

Linda told Matt Lauer that Hogan's lack of remorse for his abuse frightened her and motivated her to keep quiet.

"He did not feel remorse, and to this day he has not apologized for any of his actions. But that is something that scared me--I did not want to be a statistic like Nicole Simpson," she said. "It’s a very scary position...one fight can escalate and turn into something you don’t want."

In response to the abuse allegations, Hulk told "The Today Show" he had "no comment," however Tuesday afternoon, Hulk called Linda "delusional" and her abuse allegations a "cold, blatant lie" on a call-in radio show.

While a reality show can be the kiss of death for many celebrity marriages, Linda says that wasn't the case for the pair, who had some of their best times shooting their VH1 reality show "Hogan Knows Best."

"We were having some rough times, but when we’d get makeup on and go downstairs and start filming the kids would be in there and it was like everybody put on a happy face," she said. "Just going through one of the scenes that we were filming kind of brought us out of it and it brought us together and so we’d laugh and do the scene and stuff but you know, you fake it till you make it. Clearly there were definite problems."
