Brian Williams Reminds Ken Strickland To Call His Mom (VIDEO)

WATCH: Brian Williams Reminds Correspondent To Call His Mom

Washington bureau chief Ken Strickland was talking about the debt ceiling with Brian Williams live on MSNBC, when the correspondent got an untimely phone call.

Mediaite reports that Williams handled the situation beautifully.

When Strickland's cell phone rang, the unflappable Williams asked if he needed to take the call. Strickland declined to do so and said it might be his mom trying to reach him.

Fans of "30 Rock" and "The Daily Show" know that Williams can be quite the funny man. But it's especially impressive to see the anchor use his quick wit to bail Strickland out of an awkward situation.
