Former president Bill Clinton put forth a proposal for lawmakers to strike a deal on the nation's debt as contentious talks on the fiscal issue continue. Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert scored a victory at the Federal Election Commission, obtaining approval to form his "Colbert Super PAC." And, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told his colleagues in the upper congressional chamber they should prepare to work next week and forgo a week-long July 4 recess.
