Brooklyn Decker In 'What To Expect When You're Expecting': Model/Actress Joins Film

Brooklyn What To Expect

Perhaps it's time to stop leading off her biography with note of her modeling career; now, it's become clear that Brooklyn Decker is more than just a pretty (okay, gorgeous) face (and body).

The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition Cover Model has been cast in her third major motion picture, joining the star-studded lineup already assembled for the self help book-to-film, "What To Expect When You're Expecting." Decker made her film debut in the Jennifer Aniston-Adam Sandler winter comedy, "Just Go With It," and is starring in the upcoming big budget action thriller, "Battleship."

So yes, she likes unexpectedly adapted properties, it seems.

According to a release from Lionsgate, Decker, "will play Skyler in one of the film's interlocking stories. The perennially perky character, who is married to a much older man, sails through her pregnancy with twins much to the consternation of her peers."

Decker is the latest beauty to join the film; already, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez are committed to what will be a "Valentine's Day"-style set of interweaving storylines about pregnancy and relationships.

Ed Helms has also joined the project, though, presumably, he won't be that fourth pregnant woman. Kirk Jones, director of "Waking Ned Divine," will be behind the camera.

Uh, are you kidding me? A movie based on a guide to babies? Really, how are you dramatize "what do I do when my baby's sh@t smells and is green?"

O God. Not JLo is another horrid movie. She's a terrible actress and an even worse American Idol judge. She should stick with what she does well: sing and look beautiful doing it. What's up with her husband? Has his career hit the skids? More noticeably, he is a skeleton. He looked like death warmed over when he was on American Idol a couple of months ago. He looks like he either never eats or he's on cocaine or something (maybe both). Ugh.

While I don't think that "Valentine's Day" was quite as horrible as some others seem to think (maybe because of my gigantic crush on Taylor Swift), it wasn't a very good movie. If this is anything like that in anything other than structure, it won't be good either.

Of course, I'm definitely not the target demo for this movie anyways.

> What do Mo Decker, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez have on common?

When all three ladies brain cells are put together they still fall far short of a sandwich for the picnic? Just a guess.

It seems like film studios are now going out of their way to avoid making films based on original screenplays. A film based on a self-help book?! That's ridiculous.

There are tons of original screenplays. What are you talking about?
12:27 AM on 07/01/2011
Most of the films made in the US are not based on original screenplays but are based on previously existing material; books, Broadway plays/musicals, videogames, theme park rides, TV shows, etc ANYTHING BUT original screenplays from the minds of new screenwriters.
