Duchess Of Cambridge Theme-Dresses For Canada Day (PHOTOS)

After a whirlwind first day, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William continued their Canadian tour on Friday with a visit to the Canadian Museum of Civilisation for a citizenship ceremony and celebrations at at Parliament Hill.

The former-Kate Middleton took the theme of Canada Day quite literally, dressing in a sort of high fashion version of the country's flag. She brought a cream-colored Reiss dress out of the closet, last seen in her engagement pictures, and accessorized with a maple leaf brooch lent to her by the Queen, a red leafy hat by Sylvia Fletcher at Lock and Co., Anya Hindmarch's Fan Clutch in cream and a pair of red heels.

In the evening, she and Prince William continued to fete the country, but with an outfit change. Catherine slipped into a purple Issa frock, black pumps and toted a black Anya Hindmarch clutch while Will ditched his tie.

On Saturday, the couple made a few final stops before leaving Ottawa. The Duchess chose a gray Catherine Walker dress, a Hobbs "Somerton" bag in silver and Tabitha Simmons pumps for tree planting at Rideau Hall.

I am not all gaga over the Duchess but she does to appear to have exceptional poise and warmth.  She looks like bride and a woman in love and I wish her well.

She is a young natural beauty that does not need to be matured by clothes beyong her years. The purple dress is great and reflects her style and youth. As to some of the hats of recent are better left in the box.

You know what i think is so amusing about this royal world.....the same people who comment on how wonderful they look and how such wonderful people they are, are generally the same people who would be foaming at the mouth against welfare recipients, and helping people who have nothing, but yet fawn all over the BIG royal welfare troughters. These "royals" are their because they were able to make a baby.....boy that takes a lot of work.....then they are at the BIG welfare trough for the rest of their lifes.....and you are not only not against this type of system but you fawn all over them. Such a strange contradiction you posses.

The biggest welfare recipients in America is the financial and the industrial elite. That has been the plan of the Republicans for decades: take away welfare from the people and give it to the very rich. So, there should be no big surprise there- you vote to give welfare to the upper 2% of the population, you get to gush and admire them in photos.

The problem with those hats is not so much the hats in themselves (although some are pretty hiddeous), the problem is rather that they don't wear them well. The hats don't really fit and often look like a drag queen accoutrement.

William was absolutely 'Princely' and was so very wonderful....I pray he will be the next King of England.......what a dynasty - from Elizabeth II - to King William............Love him to pieces.....

I think the reason more people like the 'purple' version - is that her HAIR WAS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING......so regal, so elegant, so 'queenly'......

When her hair is down - she is also stunning - but I like it back off of her face - to show her bone structure and beautiful face....

But I'll love her - no matter how she dresses or fixes her hair....

I noticed on several other websites that people keep commenting on her stockings/pantyhose and how they look ridiculous. I honestly don't get it...I think they make her legs looks great. Princess Diana also wore pantyhose with all of her dresses. As I understand it, royal women must wear stockings and can't wear open-toed shoes. I could be mistaken though.

I'll agree with you. It's only those that just don't know but a woman who understands the rules of fashion and proper etiquette would never wear a dress without stockings. It's vulgar.

Unfortunately, for most of the mass and even FLOTUS this rules seems to have been thrown out the window. I won't begin to even think how nasty the inside of their shoes must be.

It's a fad. Or maybe it's related to global warming. :) But the people who like to make up Rules about what people should wear decided that ladies under 80 should not wear leg-colored hosiery. I guess Catherine is going to put an end to that!

I agree .. I love hose and always will ... the fashion crowd thinks it's best to go with bare legs .. not me ... hose have always made a womans legs look great .. I see all these woman on tv with these great dresses and then they ruin it by having bare legs .
