We've all had the annoying experience of misplacing keys, losing glasses or forgetting appointments. How can we avoid these everyday memory slips?
In an interview with BigThink.com, Gary Small, a professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, explained the usefulness of "memory places" -- for example, designate a specific spot in your home for hanging your keys.
Of course, this strategy doesn't work when you're traveling and staying in unfamiliar places, so in these situations, Dr. Small suggests turning to a three-step strategy that he calls "look, snap, connect."
