Gay New Yorkers Can Now Apply For Marriage Licenses

11 days after the Senate voted to legalize same sex marriage In New York, couples are now able to apply for marriage licenses through the nyc.gov website. However, for now there are a few problems with the application.

The Times notes that "the official online form, apparently unrevised, requires applicants to list both a “groom” and a 'bride.'"

So while there are a few kinks to be smoothed out before gay marriage is officially rolled out on July 25th (including certain questions on how the new law will affect current benefits) at least this semantic mistake will be corrected today.
