Princess Charlene & Prince Albert II Step Out In South Africa (PHOTOS)

After a wedding weekend of pale blue, white and more white, Princess Charlene of Monaco stepped out in head-to-toe black on Tuesday.

The South African native and her husband Prince Albert II stopped by the 123rd International Olympic Committee session in Durban, an annual meeting where IOC members choose the host city of the next Olympic games (candidates for the 2018 Winter Games are Munich, Annecy and PyeongChang, for those who were curious).

Princess Charlene wore a strapless black metallic top, black pants and a small black handbag, covering her famous shoulders with a elegant black shawl. More surprising than the black-on-black-on-black ensemble was her hair, which seemed to be in an uncharacteristically messy side-pony situation.

The couple is expected to honeymoon in nearby Umhlanga and host a dinner reception for 400 guests on Thursday night, the AFP reports.

You know, it's stunning how sometimes things just jump out at you.

Looking at these photos I realized that you can have oodles of money fame fortune, a princely title, even a palace or two and several flats around the world in major cities, but .............. with all that you still cannot change that you look like the top saleman at awards night toasting with the top saleswoman just before a roll in the hay at Econo Lodge in bum luck nowhere.

Sheeeeeeesh with all Prince Alberts cash you'd think he would have gone to a fat farm to shed some tonnage before his wedding and the grand tour honeymoon.

Job description for this princess:
1. Wear designer clothes from several brands, as long as they have boutiques in Monaco.
2. Avoid controversy, best done by just not talking.
3. Wear more designer clothes when you host rich people at quasi-charity events.
4. Look the other way when Albert has another affair, another baby, etc.
5. Stay skinny to look good in those designer clothes. Monaco already has 8 kids in line for the throne (Caroline's kids come first) so you don't even need to get preggers.

While I do think that Charlene is stunning, I always find her stiff and uncomfortable in photos. But I don't blame her, if I were in such public scrutiny, I'd be lying on a ditch somewhere.

But I hope that she loosens up and have more confidence....

In early pictures from her swimming competition years, she had no problems smiling naturally for the cameras - even with her original teeth (before the veneers and the lip injections). IMHO, she's also had her nose refined, some wrinkles washed away with acid, and her eyebrows plucked. But I still prefer the original, natural athletic girl who didn't look frightened of doing the wrong thing at public events.

I still don't understand why Albert married anyone, he got France to change the treaty so his sister (and her eldest son) could succeed him. They don't look the least bit in love, or even companionable. I wish her well, but I don't expect this will end well.

Actually, I think that she has always looked self-conscious and uncomfortable in photos particularly the ones at the Olympics. She is a full grown 33 year old woman who made her decision apparently a long time ago about the course she wanted her life to take.

I haven't seen any "before" pictures. Has she also had cheek implants?
I guess there's no makeup artist traveling with them. What a difference. Especially when wearing black....she needs more makeup and color.

I would feel bad for her but she didn't have to do it. She did sell her soul and doesn't look happy. However, she could be in an unhappy marriage and not get to be called Princess and have everything at her disposal. I just hope that atleast the trappings of this are some consolation. But I also did find it interesting that will all the PR they did to hype this wedding, no one showed them how to sell the fairytale. It was a beautiful event surrounding miserable looking people.
