The new opiate of the masses isn't religion...it's showbiz...this is the great pacifier, the distraction that takes up our time in front of TV sets and in supermarkets. CBS and NBC alone devote four times the time to showbiz gossip and late night talks shows than prime time network news shows.

The Royal visit isn't just about William and Kate, it's about showbiz and money.

And, as the rich-poor gap in America grows, showbiz stars are in the forefront of this gap, making millions often for mind numbing crap and retreat to their gated Olympian communities of wealth and safety, yet telling we mortals how to go green...when they have much of the green.

Oop's--I thought that the British poet Rupert Brooke wrote the poem "Oh, to be in England, now that April's there!" As a young and patriotic man, Brooke enlisted in the British Navy at the start of World War One and passed away early in the war while serving aboard a British Navy warship during a very hot summer in in the Mediterranean Sea.

If they're not bringing Tanqueray or Beefeaters, strike my name off the list.

I believe it is traditional on these occasions to say- "WHO?"

(OK, ok! Im familiar with Harry Lloyd of Dr Who and Game of Thrones fame. But really that's it.)

I am all for getting married at a church, and celebrating a ceremony with your loved one. This has been lost in many young people living in large cities who choose to live together like animals and mock everyone else who decides to do things the right way.
And I like the Royals, because they set a good example to mankind and show thw world that there is a good way to behave and tie the knott. Long live the Queen, Long Live Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate!!!

William and Kate lived together before they got married, both during their college years and for several months before their wedding. No information on whether they were living together like animals, though.

Wow, "like animals," huh? Please let Kate and William know that's how you feel about them co-habitating before marriage.

I still have a hunch that William and Kate would have preferred visiting Hollywood "Hurray for Hollywood" and America first and then stopping by Canada on the way back. But then again, Canada has close ties to England. A noted British poet wrote a poem called "Oh, to be in England, now that April's there." (April was the month---and not a girfriend.)

Maybe they timed it that way so they would be in Canada for Canada Day.

The poem is titled, "Home Thoughts from Abroad" - anyone with a grade 10 education would recognize the name Robert Browning - and if there is any point at all to your post, I'm not seeing it.
