Ewan McGregor Doesn't Enjoy Filming Hot, Sweaty Sex Scenes

Ewan Mcgregor

He may play a sexy stud in the movies, but all that onscreen lovemaking isn't fun and games for Ewan McGregor.

The 'Angels and Demons' star revealed on The Graham Norton Show that rolling around for sex scenes these days is "a strange and bizarre thing to be doing."

He goes on to explain that while he's now 40 years old, his onscreen love interests just get younger and younger, making the entire experience awkward for everyone.

And those sweaty and passionate sex scenes that Hollywood does so well? No thanks, McGregor says. Not only are those scenes weird to film, "they are also embarrassing to watch." He says he much prefers tasteful romantic moments over the raunchy scenes any day.

This isn't the first time the Scottish actor has voiced his displeasure in getting down and dirty for roles. He recently revealed to Harper's Bizarre that he's not too keen on shedding his clothes for films anymore.

“I have to be careful now,” McGregor told the mag about showing his skin. “If people think ‘there’s McGregor taking his clothes off again,' it can actually distract them from the movie.”

Somehow we don't think him shedding his clothes would be all that bad for business.

How would you know? Are you part of the Gay conspiracy? Why don't you just keep your opinions to your lower class self.

How about dropping the sex scenes, unless it's porn and that's what you're looking for? It's all been done, it's not shocking, it doesn't usually do that much for the story, it's just gratuitous. One sex scene looks pretty much like another, and they never really say much. Not to mention they make it awkward when they pop up unexpectedly when watching something with your mom.

He may hate it but he does it so well! If he doesn't want to do nude scenes anymore good for him. We've been spoiled so much already! ;-)

I've always felt the same way. So awkward to see a movie in a Theater with scenes like that. I don't want other people in my bedroom, uninvited, so why do we need so much of it? Oh, yeah, one of the only reason guys will go to see a movie. I just buy the DVD and skip them. If young people need to learn more about sex, they should be buying instruction manuals. They really are more useful. We just don't need graphic sex in standard movie theaters.Yes, it's a normal part of life. Just tune it out once we get the point, these people have sex. Okay, on with the real story. I have always felt badly for stars who have had to fake those scenes. Unless you are in a relationship with that person, it isn't necessary to put people into those situations to make a movie worth watching.

Nice to Ewan has a great head on his shoulders. No more of the days of Trainspotting having your junk swing around as you run around on screen nude. Ewan has done a few films with his junk hanging out. I guess as you age you look at things differently.

I don't know this man, but he's earned my respect. I think sex scenes in general are weird, especially the wild ones. The wild sex scenes never look realistic.

He's right. Too much ruins the mystery.

I don't like mysteries or surprises. I'll take Ewan McGregor in the buff any day of the week over some other male actor who will, at most, flash a butt cheek. Quite a few women enjoy the look or a man au naturale in a movie. It's always the women who have no clothes on. Not fair, IMO.
