Harry Potter Exclusive: Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe Appear At Hogwarts Farewell

Stars Bid Fond Farewell To Hogwarts

It wasn't just a special occasion for the 250 journalists gathered at the launch of the final Harry Potter film earlier today.

It was a sentimental event for the cast too, who've reached the end of a magical 10 years and eight films that have transformed the face of the British film industry.

Gathered in the majestic St. Pancras Renaissance hotel, 22 cast members turned out to say their final lines on the now legendary Harry Potter franchise.

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint entered into the wands-and-wizard franchise as complete unknowns, yet left today's rammed press conference three of the most recognisable faces in film.

Although Broadway commitments kept Radcliffe away, he joined in by video-screen, with a contribution that left even co-star Grint visibly affected.

Emma Watson proved a cooler customer, giggling away with Ralph Fiennes, who looked a far gentler soul than his on-screen role of Voldemort.

Watson looked stunning, proving the fashion industry have got it right by making her a proper 21st century muse, and she looked the part in couture - quite distinct from everyone else in a uniform of T-shirt and jeans.

Any child terrified by Voldermot would have been cheered to discover what Fiennes really wore under his costume while he was filming - no doubt this will come out in the wash soon!

Although the child-stars have spent their formative years in the world of Hogwarts, it was clear it was a big deal for the older actors - Michael Gambon, Julie Walters and Fiennes all talking of the privilege it had been to take part.

Rich enough to never work again, yet young enough to still have the world at their feet, if the past decade has been a rollercoaster for the trio, the future could be even more exciting.

Later, journalists were invited to share cocktails with the cast, to toast what really is the end of an era for actors and fans alike.
