7-Eleven Giving Out Free Slurpees To Celebrate Birthday On 7-11-2011

Convenience store chain 7-Eleven is celebrating its 84th birthday on Monday.

As usual, that means a free Slurpee for anyone who stops by a 7-Eleven on 7-11. The popular drink comes in dozens of flavors.

Each customer receives one 7.11-ounce Slurpee at no cost. A total of 5 million drinks are expected to be given away in all, according to 7-Eleven. That's the most the company has ever given out on a single day, with 3 million handed out two years ago, per 7-Eleven senior vice president Jesus Delgado-Jenkins.

The 7-Eleven franchise, founded in 1927 in Dallas, Texas, has more than 39,000 stores around the world, making it the largest convenience retailer.

I love Slurpees in the summer, though the calories sure add up! I think they should offer grape more often.
