British Newspapers Splash Rupert Murdoch's Media Scandal

As allegations of phone hacking against Rupert Murdoch-owned British tabloid News of the World mounted -- resulting in the paper's shocking closure -- British and American media jumped on the story. British papers have been significantly more extensive in their coverage, with most devoting large, flashy front-page spreads to the dizzying story. The American media has covered the scandal more sparingly --The New York Times' front page Thursday featured a small column on it, while it was noticeably absent from the front pages of both Murdoch's The Wall Street Journal and The New York Post.
