Azzedine Alaia Presents Couture Collection After Eight-Year Hiatus, Vogue Editors Banned (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Vogue Editors Banned From Azzedine Alaia's Runway Return

It was a triumphant return to the runway for Azzedine Alaïa, who presented his first couture collection in eight years on Thursday.

The collection, full of sculpted skirts and his famous body-conscious dresses (FLOTUS is a fan), was applauded by high-profile audience members including Donatella Versace, Kanye West, Sophia Coppola with her daughter Romy (Alaïa's rumored to be making the director's wedding dress) and France's Culture Minister Frédéric Mitterrand, who pulled a reluctant Alaïa from backstage at the end of the show to take a bow, Women's Wear Daily reported.

Although the widely-anticipated show received rave reviews, one notable critic was not in attendance. Anna Wintour and the rest of her Vogue editors were reportedly banned from the show, owing to Alaïa's longstanding dispute with the editrix (he recently remarked that no one "will remember Anna Wintour in the history of fashion" and was excluded from her 2009 Met fashion exhibit and gala).

Instead of attending one of the hottest tickets in Paris, Wintour made her way to London to walk the red carpet of an even bigger event: the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" premiere.

Who knew Wintour was such a Potter fan?
