Teens Plead Not Guilty To Vandalizing Snohomish High School

Teens Plead Not Guilty To July 4 School Ransacking [VIDEO]

Two teenagers charged with ransacking and vandalizing Snohomish High School in Everett, Wash. pleaded not guilty in juvenile court Thursday.

The two, a 16-year-old female and a 17-year-old male, reportedly broke into the school on the Fourth of July and smashed and dumped all 50 computers in the school's library. There were also several broken windows and trophies, and a shattered display case, The [Everett] Herald reported.

Police found vandalism spanning the library, attendance office, counseling office and halls. The girl is also being charged with third-degree assault -- she reportedly spat on an officer while being taken into custody after police caught the two red-handed.

"The odor of intoxicants coming from both subjects was overwhelming and obvious," police wrote in court report, according to The Herald.

The damages could cost the school more than $100,000 in repair fees, and the teens' motivation for the act is not yet known.

Seattle's Komo News reports that neither perpetrator attends Snohomish High.
