Heidi Montag Says New Restaurant Reality Show Is 'Cutthroat'

Heidi Montag Talks 'Very Difficult' New Gig

We're used to seeing Heidi Montag in a bikini by a Las Vegas pool or causing problems on 'The Hills,' but the reality star says she's staying out of trouble on her latest reality venture, 'Famous Food.'

In her latest show, which premieres July 10 on VH1, Montag competes with fellow celebs including 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Danielle Staub, 'Bachelor' Jake Pavelka and infamous call girl Ashley Dupre, to open a successful restaurant in L.A. The winner of the competition ends up getting a stake in the business.

Though we've seen her troublesome side, don't expect Heidi to stick to her old 'Hills'-esque schemes.

"I really want to stay away from all of the drama," she told MTV News. "And I just try to be like, 'OK, let's open a restaurant.' "

She no stranger the restaurant business either, having grown up with parents in the business in Colorado.

"I grew up in the restaurant industry; my parents had a restaurant since I was 2 years old," she said, adding that her background in the business still didn't make the competition any easier. "There was nothing easy about 'Famous Food.' Really it was very difficult."
