Betty Ford Funeral To Be Attended By Michelle Obama

PALM DESERT, Calif. -- The White House says first lady Michelle Obama will travel to California for the funeral of former first lady Betty Ford.

Ford's funeral is scheduled for Tuesday at Saint Margaret Episcopal Church in Palm Desert.

Her remains will be flown to Michigan on Wednesday and interment is scheduled for Thursday at the Gerald R. Ford Museum in Grand Rapids.

Ford was 93 when she died Friday at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Betty Ford would be so thrilled to have the Presidents "first Lady,",right there with her! What a wonderdul DEED! She looked so lovely next to Hilary!.Eager to see her Style forDali Lama. My Guess, a scarf draped look,of a material in respect of his country, I see creme colors! Possiblya flowing summer gown,maybe a flower present, I see her lovely smile,she makes him feel comfortable. Quite good at that she is.

Im Glad too, as Michelle "O", takes precious time for fabulous Betty Ford, a whole Program to redo people ! She did all that. & all the way to 93. We should be so lucky! Betty bothered to speak the truth & do the work to set up a style to educate those to recogonzize the simplicity of a program in your life! She taught those calm rooms, the serene settings, the quiet life is O.K.She found a gorgues place with Palm tree settings, even a gaurd gate with Labradors! Rancho Mirage! She set an example everlasting!

Betty was ahead of her time in so many ways. I am a democrat, but I have always admired her honesty on many matters, even those that were in conflict with her party beliefs.

What a contrast between Michelle Obama and you: she doesn't embarrass herself when she opens her mouth.

And perhaps you are too young to know that Betty Ford routinely embarrassed her husband the president and her family with her outspokenness. In some ways it was refreshing, but in many, many others, she was speaking through years of alcohol and drug abuse.

Is that your definition of "class"? Oh, and Betty Ford was a rabid anti-gun ownership activist.

This woman spoke out for the Equal Rights Amendment and when asked said she would support her daughter's use of birth control. Can you imagine any First Lady saying any of that since 1980?? It's amazing how reactionary politicians and their supporters have turned back the clock on cultural progress in the last 40 years.

If Michelle Obama will be attending, so will the Secret Service. Let's hope they perceive a threat and are able to arrest them. If little old ladies trying to board a plane can be perceived as possible threats or a terrorist, then, by God, this pack of lunatics are certainly can be!
