When his 3-year-old son, Dylan, found himself in harm's way, Jake McCoy of Ohio sprung into action
Dylan had been jumping on a piece of rotting wood covering a well in his back garden when the wood gave way, ABC reports. Dylan plunged 40 feet into the water.
In an attempt to rescue him, his dad raced to put a ladder down the well.
"I just told him to calm down. It's going be alright. Daddy's coming."
When the ladder failed to work, Jake McCoy resorted to scaling the wall. He held his son until rescuers came.
