Zooey Deschanel: Tights Are My Safety Blanket

It's hard to pity a girl whose legs are too slender, but we can muster up some sympathy for the charming Zooey Deschanel.

The actress-slash-singer posted on her website Hello Giggles in the category of "Stuff I Would Invent If I Had Time" an entreaty for Tights for Skinny Ankles: "My biggest complaint with tights is that they do not accommodate skinny-ankled people like myself."

It's a topic Zooey has put a lot of thought into, since she wears tights year-round, confessing, "I will wear tights even if it's 100 degrees outside. Tights are my safety blanket."

We hear you, Zo, although we'll take well-ventilated legs in the heat over any type of blanket. But hey, that's just us.

This is a confusing article, probably written by a UK writer, or taken from a UK article.

In the UK, 'tights' refers to all pantyhose and the heavier opaque 'leggings' and 'tights' used for dancing.

In the US, pantihose is sheer. 'Tights' are heavier, opaque or heavily textured, and incudes 'leggings.'

In the first slide, Zooey (whoever she is) is not barelegged, she is wearing pantyhose (US readers) or 'tights' in a UK article.

In the rest, she's wearing 'tights' (UK) or leggings (US) - opaque, heavy.

Zooey Deschanel is simply gorgeous. While it depends on the actress who is wearing them, I think Zooey can wear tights at any event and still look as gorgeous as she does here.

While she really needs to improve her acting chops, she can wear tights anytime and still look absolutely gorgeous.

This actress is completely full of herself, way too cool for mere mortals. I read somewhere that she grew up with Kate Hudson and Tori Spelling in Malibu or Santa Monica, and they hung out with real cool people.
She considers everything she does as having artistic merit, she sings and dances too. How wonderful!!!
