French Street Style: How Paris Does Men's Fashion Week (PHOTOS)

When someone says "Paris Fashion Week," we think sky-high stilettos, head-to-toe black and lots of Chanel and Hermès.

But we stand corrected. French Vogue staked out Men's Fashion Week in the City of Light and took a slew of street style snaps, revealing what the fashionable French are really wearing: clashing prints, funky neck gear, lots of layers and a heavy dose of je ne sais quoi.

they don't really wear jeans in paris...or flip flops. classy skirts, shorts, slacks, and lots of color are all good ideas!

Agreed, no flip flops (too American!) Skirts are great for hot weather, especially if they are a little "floaty". If your skirt had colors in it, you could match tees and accessories to vary the look.

Jessica - don't let not speaking French stop you! Learn a little, make an effort to use it, and the French will warm to you. I went to Paris sight-unseen, without knowing a soul or the language on a one-way ticket. I stayed for two amazing years.
