Colbert took time on his Wednesday night show to meticulously deconstruct the bargaining going on between President Obama and the GOP on raising the debt ceiling. There's a lot of haggling going on, a lot of back and forth; Obama makes concessions, Republicans ask him to make concessions, and so on. As Colbert put it, "It's like the old saying goes, 'You scratch my back, I get my back scratched.'"
But lest we accuse the GOP of doing nothing other than make demands, Colbert reminds us that Mitch McConnell has an actual plan. And it's the same plan that Richard Pryor had in "Brewster's Millions."
